DIETY SERIES

We are all made of universe. This entire series is inspired by a text the Rotterdam based dutch writer Lianne Collignon wrote: "A body to love." (Een lijf om lief te hebben.)

Lianne tells the story of a woman who does not let her partner love her freely because she herself struggles with loving the vessel she has grown into. She slowly learns to love herself and opens up to her environment and the closeness she deserves. I wanted to translate this mental transformation into a painting and decided to depict her as the goddess she truly is.

Soon enough I painted more paintings in this style because I felt so inspired by 'A body to love'. I wanted to honor other strong people by painting them into these godlike figures.
